Christy Wilson Staff Photo

I graduated from the University of South Alabama in 2012 with a BS degree in early childhood education, elementary and special education.

This is my second year teaching first grade at O'Rourke and I absolutely love it! Before joining the O'Rourke family, I taught at Robert E. Lee in Satsuma for two years. There I worked as an inclusion teacher for grades K-3.  It was an enjoyable and wonderful learning experience however, I wanted something closer to home.  I then received a position at Causey where I worked with students in the sixth grade.  My heart is working with younger children so I moved back into the elementary setting.

My name is Christy Wilson. I was born and raised in Mobile, Alabama.  I have been teaching for 5 years.  Three of these years were spent working as a special education teacher and two as a first grade teacher.  First grade is tough but children grow and learn so much throughout the school year.  I absolutely love this age group and how much we are able to teach each other!

I am married and have two children.  Both are boys and they love baseball.  We spend most of our time at the ball park.  When we are not at the baseball park we enjoy going to the beach and being outdoors.  Family is very important and we enjoy doing as much as we can together.

I am very confident that this will be a wonderful year!  Please feel free to contact me if you need anything or have any questions.  Communication is important and we can accomplish great things if we work together as a team!
